Liberum Mortis

J’ai décidé de me suicider aujourd'hui, et je ne sais plus pourquoi. Mais il est encore jour. Il faut attendre la nuit. Il doit être horrible de mourir le jour. Tous ces humains qui traînent leurs malheurs et leurs déceptions. Ils se jetteront avidement sur ma mort, pour y puiser consolation à leur vie misérable. Ils se diront, sans se l’avouer : « Au moins nous, nous sommes encore en vie ! » Je n’ai point envie que les autres se mêlent de ma mort. Ils se sont fait une pâture de ma vie que je voudrais mourir d’une mort solitaire, une mort égoïste. Les gens sont par trop nombreux et bruyants, impudiques, le matin. Cette façon de s’exhiber et de s’étaler me répugne. Cette flânerie humaine m’est insupportable. Elle montre combien l’homme a perdu toute pudeur. Cette tendance à se précipiter sur la première occasion pour battre les rues afin de voir ses semblables et d’être vu, recherche vaine de reconnaissance pour trouver motif à leur vanité, dépasse mon entendemen...
